About Us

Barbie Bass and her husband were married in 1972. She accepted Christ in 1979 with his guidance during their daily devotion time. They attended Arlington Baptist University together where she held a double major in Bible and Christian Education. Wanting to continue her education Barbie simultaneously received her public school certification at University of Texas at Arlington and later earned a certificate for teaching Special Education with a reading specialization from East Texas University. She enjoyed teaching and continued for many years while she and her husband assisted in the establishment of Southwood Baptist Church in Fort Worth Texas under Pastor Lloyd Taylor and later founded Bethel Baptist Church in Waxahachie Texas where they served for 16 years. In the following years they continued together the work God called them to, planting churches and discipling believers. All these churches were very mission-minded. They always taught their people to support missions, so it came as no surprise that Barbie felt the call early to foreign missions. She and her husband answered the call to serve as church planting missionaries in Guatemala while on a mission trip in 2012.
